I started 'seriously' playing SC2 only about 6 months ago. I did play quite a few seasons before hand but I would usually quit after a season and a half.
Soon after I began playing seriously I quickly smashed as . I however would always struggle with fighting and their mass stalker with collo compositions. So eventually I switched to Protoss where I have stayed ever since. I do play Zerg occasionally but its not as fun as it used to be. Funny thing is my PvZ is my weakest matchup. So is my ZvP !!
Thus followed an extended period of frustration as . No matter how well I performed I never earned the promo until last week!
I have been involved with AxS until I left for ETL. After getting some much needed coaching from some legends here in ETL I finally earned that coveted promo!
Kudos to you if you read that intro! But now to the point!
One thing I love to do no matter what community I am involved with is to organise tournaments of some kind
This was the one that generated the most interest whenever I ran it when I played a certain browser based game. I even created an eWWE for them, which was great fun for me!
But thats enough of old glories. I just mention the above to point out that I am no n00bie when it comes to organising and running competitions or tournaments.
So as you may have guessed with this lengthy preamble is that I would love to get back into organising these things. I have run one tournament and casted part of it (it was an AxS IH tournament) http://www.twitch.tv/balimaar/b/472441154
That was a bunch of fun and I would really love to get back into the game and branch out a bit. I would love to create some regular tournies for this community!
So my question for you all is... given my experience and the above stream of that AxS IH tournament... What can I do to make the experience for the players and the viewers of the stream better? Also, what would make you want to join a tourney? How do you choose which ones to participate in?
EDIT:
Wow I was a total n00b when I casted that tournament lol I promise I have learnt a LOT MORE about the game since that stream!
