1) Strategy. Going into a game with a clear build order to execute.
2)Micro. You want the most out of your units, right?
3)Macro. Replace units as fast as possible as all units may die.
4)APM. Not apm spam at beginning at games.
5)Scouting. Getting the right unit compositon to counter your enemies.
6)Ability to keep calm. No panicking and GG early.
7)Good Manners. As much as we love Idra, we dont want rage yeah?
I know its important to have all but i just want to know how you guys feel about this basic qualities that all sc2 players have and which is the most important to you.
Personally I believe macro is the most important quality in SCII (from my current skill level stand-point, anyway).
Just by constantly building workers, pylons/supply depots/overlords and constantly producing out of your unit producing structures will more often than not win you the game.
That said, good manners is also a great quality to have
I think you can always win if you use proper tactics. Strategy is king.
Macro is important but 3 zealots placed at a choke where only 1 zealot can reach them will take out 5 zealots quite easily. Well timed drops, proper defenses, ect. is what makes the game unless one player is seriously lacking in skill.
No matter how good your plan is, if your opponent simply has more stuff, you will lose. No matter how bad you are at the game, if you can pump out a ton of units, you can do alright.
Strategy comes second, because it's how you use the sheer bulk of units you produce. A ton of strategy is macro-related in the first place - pressure, harassment, etc.
