Today we announce that we have chosen not to extend the contract with our Swedish Starcraft II player Johan 'NaNiwa' Lucchesi. His current contract expires at the end of the month and we have agreed with Johan not to offer a consecutive one.
We wish Johan all the best with his future career.
I totally did not see that coming, wonder which team he's going to join....maybe a korean team, or fxo? or is EG up to their thing again?
There's been an awful lot of player trading going on in the scene lately, I just hope this one doesnt bring anymore controversy, like some others so that nani can concentrate on sc2.

The wording is a little weird... wonder what their technical difference between extending his current contract and offering a consecutive one is.
I assume that he feels he's worth more money than his current contract, and dignitas don't want to/can't afford to give it to him, and he expects some other team will.
Really sucks with select and sjow also being in Korea, though. And didn't the commentators say that Sjow and SeleCT were staying in one team house, but Naniwa wasn't with them/at some other house? Naniwa possibly signing with a korean team...
I don't see him going to a Korean team, I see coL picking him up.
Naniwa knows how much publicity he will get and knows that he is worth alot of money. Korean teams can't put that much money into him and coL has money to burn after their stefano issue failed.
Would like to see EG pick him up though, would be cool :P

^ This please. HuK and Naniwa are two of the three best travelling protoss at the moment. I'd really like to see HuK's aggressive style and Naniwa's safe style be merged into some godly-insta win PvP build :P
Also, I want to see the builds Naniwa could figure out playing a macro zerg like idrA. Maybe he might find another 'safe' PvZ build.

Naniwa doesn't look in top shape atm. He is solid, but has been degrading. And he has an awesome brickface and "killer instinct activated" shine in his eyes when playing.
