I hereby present the first (and hopefully not last) season of the (insert name here) Team League! This league is graciously sponsored by Saulo Silva Fine Photography, as well as (hopefully) you guys! (More info further down). For our first attempt at making this a thing, we've invited 4 of SEA's greatest teams to face off in a battle of pride, skill, epic games, and most of all, fun.
The tournament will be run following the Proleague format, but with 2 round robins due to the small amount of teams. The Round Robins will be 4x Bo1 matches with an Ace match in the event of a 2-2 tie. The teams will be seeded into a playoff bracket which also uses the same format as Proleague, with 3rd playing 4th, winner playing 2nd, and winner of that playing 1st. Following Proleague, this will be All-kill format, so be ready to take down those heavy hitters!
Saulo has donated us $200, and with the kind donations from various community members, we have made it to $1000! So currently it sits at $500/$300/$200/$0.
Even if all hope seems lost in the Round Robin, there is still the final chance to place in the money with the 3rd/4th decider match, so keep those chins held high!
This event is sponsored by the legend himself, Saulo Silva. Check out his beautiful photographs at www.saulosilvaphoto.com. Not only does he take snaps of amazing scenery, but also of eSports events throughout Europe, such as Dreamhack Stockholm and Dreamhack Winter! He also personally sponsors x5.PiG and several OSC events within the SEA region, such as Master's Cups, Global All-stars and the OSC Yearly Finals! Truly a God among men.
In addition to Saulo, any contributions by the community would be greatly appreciated. While any help is greatly appreciated, donation is 100% optional and amounts donated are completely up to you. All donations will go towards funding the prize pool, literally every cent! In addition we have multiple benefits for the donators.
The first benefit is for every donator. If you donate, no matter how big or small, you will receive a replay pack of the entire event. Replays will be entirely organised by stage, match and set and e-mailed to the e-mails connected to donators accounts.
The other benefit goes to the highest donator. Above, you might have noticed that this is the (insert name here) Team League. For the highest donator, the name of your choosing (you can use your ID or make your own if you're a little more creative) will be inserted in "here". This is valid until 1 week before the beginning of the first match of the season (7pm 8th Sept.)
This entire event will be run and admined entirely by myself (x5.Namakaye) and Swarmstika.
In the event myself and Swarmstika cannot be present for the duration of a match, another admin will be organised for the match. The information about the replacement will be made available with the announcement of matches for the week.
All teams MUST submit a roster for their match no less than 72 hours before their scheduled play time. Failure to do this will result in a completely randomized line-up. These can be submitted to me or Swarmstika in any way you see fit (sc2sea PM, Skype, Twitter DM etc.) Line-ups will be announced 72 hours before the scheduled match time to allow ample time for match preparation. These line-ups can NOT be changed once they have been announced to the public.
All players MUST play on an account with an ID that matches the ID they are most commonly known by. Any cases where this is not possible (e.g. no name change) will be approved by myself or Swarmstika on a case-by-case basis. It is the responsibility of both the players and teams to make sure players have either suitable in-game IDs or any differences are reported to the admins.
All games will be played on SEA by default. Any changes of server must be agreed upon by both players. If one player does not agree to the server change the game will be played on SEA.
All players should be present in the designated chat channel/group before the beginning of the first match. If a player is going to be late for any reason, ample warning must be given to the admins. If the forewarned late arriving player fails to show within 10 minutes of the time notified by the team this will result in a walkover. A player that fails to show within 10 minutes after their match is due to begin (10 minutes after start time if the offender is the starting player. 10 minutes after the end of the previous match if the offender is a subsequent player) will be walked over. If the entire team does not show without prior warning, this will be considered as a forfeiture of the match and a 3-0 will be awarded to the other team.
Match times will be announced the day after the 2nd match of each week (Friday). If there is any issue because of the scheduled time, contact an admin immediately and we will work with the other team(s) to reschedule to a more suitable time if possible.
As with any competition, etiquette and behaviour are expected to be of an exceptionally high standard. Any player displaying poor manners or showing evidence of "BM" words or actions will be assessed and punished appropriately (if at all). Also, any cases of hacking, smurfing, or abusing glitches in order to gain an unfair advantage over the opponent will result in a loss for the team and a ban for the player involved. Acts that harm the integrity of the competition are NOT tolerated in any form.
It is the responsibility of players to submit all replays to me (Namakaye) at namakaye.tournaments@hotmail.com. These replays will be organised and distributed to donators of the event. DO NOT expect the other player to handle it. Assume they will forget and send it regardless. Doubles are easily removed.
Decisions on disconnects will default to "Resume from Replay". If there is a dispute over the disconnect (e.g. one player feels it is unnecessary as the winner of the game is all but decided) the replay will be reviewed and a decision made by admins ONLY.
Matches may only be observed by Casters and Admins.
Priorities for tiebreakers will be as follows: Match score > Map score > warnings. If a tie is still in effect the teams will play a final tie breaker match to decide seeding.
All team roster changes occurring before the announcement of Week 1 matches will be accepted without penalty. Any players changing or joining teams during the season will not be allowed to play for the week of their acquisition. (e.g. A player that joins Sept 7th may not play in the Sept 8th/10th match that their team is scheduled for, but may participate in matches for future weeks.
Warnings will be given to teams that fail to abide by these rules. Repeat offences may be met with harsher punishments which will be tailored to the severity of the breach.

I like this trial format, I would rather future seasons to include more teams, as our region has more teams and there aren't other team leagues for them to play as a team in. I'm sure most teams would be able to play two matches per week if needed.
This league is a great opportunity for content, and would be great to build the exposure for future seasons. If you want to do a SoundWave-esque write up each week previewing and reporting on results, get in touch with Nama or Swarmstika. As well as streaming the games and producing highlights of the weeks games

These leagues are always ruined by mercs being allowed.
Team leagues should be about determining the best team in SEA. Mercs are not apart of the actual team.
The hype builds from the trash talk about who has the best roster, then it coming down to a series where 'oh shit the winner of this is the best team in sea!'. If you get someone who is not apart of that team to join in, it kind of ruins that for it.
Same logic behind why I don't think 'misfit' teams should be allowed. Getting a team of all superstars/mercs in just sort of ruins the "oh exile 5 has pig and kingkong, but do they have the depth that fray has?".
Unfortunately not this time . Its unfortunate but there wasn't enough players for a 6th team and if we had of gone in as 5 then there would of been a bye round and It wouldn't suit a first season. Fingers crossed this goes well and Dynasty can be a part of the next SEA team league. I also participated in the TAPL for season 4 and thought that it wad amazing. Deffs something that can be learned in

(Oh, and Alpha/FLuX have no passion)
While I'm really hyped by the news and interested in the possibility of mercs, I'm worried that there would be a Team League coming soon in NA.
I'm not sure if I can really handle schedules to help both my team and the team I merc for at the same time while still having to play many tournaments too.
So I see no problems with Petrify's opinion.
