Left Click - Frenzy Rune - Sidearm
Crazy good ability that stacks with LOH (Life on hit) as you attack faster, and the axes also proc the LOH (Not sure if this is meant to happen, might be patched later on) One of the 3 must have spells (The others being Revenge and War Cry)
Right Click - Leap Rune - Iron Impact
I use this ability to "engage" mobs. Adds 300% armour which drops incoming melee damage by upto about 97% (Highest i've seen) So you dont have to rely much on cooldowns for 4seconds.
Skill 1 - Ignore Pain Rune - Ignorance Is Bliss
The "oh shit" button. Rune is just preference, i know a few barbs who run with the extended time rune, but i just prefer to have a bit more healing.
Skill 2 -Revenge Rune - Provocation
One of the 3 required spells for the barb in Inferno, the others being (Frenzy and War Cry), used in conjunction with the increased chance to proc rune. Must have spell
Skill 3 - War Cry Rune - Impunity
Adds armour and resistances. No brainer really. One of the 3 must have spells for Inferno
Skill 4 - Wrath of the Beserker Rune - Insanity
My single target spell. Also used when getting into an oh shit moment and you require a bit more damage output with revenge. Adds damage with the rune.
Passives -
Nerves Of Steel - Adds 100% armour equal to your vitality, which is one of the stats you should be stacking, so you can easily add 1k armour for nothing.
Tough As Nails - Adds 25% armour and 50% thorns damage. Since you are usually tanking mobs, and taking direct damage, the more armour the better (Can add around 2k armour) and the thorns is a nice bonus.
Superstition - Reduces all non physical damage by 20%. Those pesky birds that shoot fireballs at you for 15k? Just got reduced by 3k damage, and theres also a small chance of gaining rage on every ranged or elemental attack (pointless for attacks from melee, you gain rage just for attacking them anyway)
For armour pieces, finding items with Strength, Vitality and +All resistance is what you're looking for. Also, a few armour items (Amulet, belt and rings? can also roll LOH (Life on hit) which is almost a necessity for Inferno. It scales much better then damage converted to life.
For weapons, you want a 1000+dps weapon, with strength, vit, LOH and a socket. Now obviously you'll have too get godly rolls too achieve this, so you can easily get by with 800+ dps weapon, with 100+ strength and a socket (Add a Radiant Start Amethyst for LOH).
All Resistance > Vitality > Strength > Life on Hit
That looks pretty decent, I'd probably stick with one primary just because you can get so much more utility or damage out of other skills. Cleave w/ rupture + ground stomp w/ wrenching smash is a great aoe combo, even better with vengeance.
I managed to solo kill SK and the butcher on inferno last night with 5 stacks of NV using this build, so it's great for elites and handles fairly well against bosses.
Unfortunately as a barb you'll have to spec as tank for hell+ due to the high damage output of mobs and close proximity required to engage. Barbs don't really have many effective kiting tools that I know of. This means your dps will be poor, most likely lower than any other class. With buffs in combat I sit around 14k but I'm really only geared for act 1. Also in a group you'll want to completely forget about damage and focus on stuns and tanking (stomp, leap, ignore pain, war cry, threatening shout etc.)
My general strategy is just to engage in chokes and avoid being surrounded, using seismic slam to knock back anything close to me. Ground stomp is a good fury generator and stun for when enemies are charging/casting their big abilities.
So far I'm getting annihilated by act 2 mobs, 2-shot even by trash (white) monsters. I'll try some different combinations and report back with my success.

I was going to post something like this when I got a bit further in and had time to check out more builds, but I have no idea how you'd actually tank with that build, it looks like a pretty good boss killing build but in mobs (especially large mobs), you'd be using seismic slam and just kiting back that much as you just wouldn't be able to get surrounded.. I'll post this now then do a full analysis/detailed post when I have had more time to study what works. This is just a guide to help those barbs struggling through hell. Again, this is a mob killing build; bosses are relatively easy if you spec to a combination of high damage/healing with stuns if they are able to be stunned.
I struggled for ages to find a Hell build that would let me actually TANK in fights, rather than spending 80 million years kiting one group of enemies. Honestly, for anyone struggling in Hell try this build out, it actually relies on being surrounded and having to tank enemy damage, using regen abilities to just never die. I don't even have good gear, it's just all about having high enough regen that you just regen through their damage.
That's for my level ~56 Barb. Basically the strategy is that you always have war cry activated (I cast it any chance I can for the boosted fury) to make use of Inspiring Presence. Try to get as many enemies surrounding you as you can and use Rend every 3 seconds (9% of damage gained as life; the more enemies around you the more damage it does and the more you heal), and just spam the revenge button for that heal. Utilize Wrath of the Berserker for basically every strong mob you find, as the bonuses plus the immunity to so many disabling effects means you can just tear down strong enemies before they have a chance to cast anything on you. Ignore Pain can be used for emergencies, although I basically pop it every time I can as 20% of the damage caused from rend/provocation also regens you on top of the regen its already creating.
As I reach higher levels and difficulties I'll be experimenting with a number of different skills to see if any make this build even more viable as being an actual 'tank'. Some ideas if level 60 barbs want to mix them in with their own build and let me know the results:
* Overpower with Revel - casted both in extreme circumstances/whenever possible or both.
* Furious Charge with Dreadnought - I'm not too keen on mixing this in, however it could be a nice escape ability + the healing would be great.
* Frenzy with Maniac - 99% sure I'll be swapping to this when I reach the required level, seems too good to pass up the extra damage.
* War Cry with Impunity - Again, I'm thinking once I get to a higher level I'll have to start stacking resistances on gear and use this.
* Leap with Death from Above - I'm really keen to mix this in instead of Ignore Pain, or a smaller mob alternative to Wrath of the Berserker. The 3 second stun is basically granting you the time to heal a full spell of Rend without being touched.
Goodluck!

Does anyone have a barb build for normal mode? I would love to see a barn build that evoles as you level up. Such as a lvl 1 - 15 and then a 15 - 30 build and so on.
Anyone up for that challenge?

Bacially...
Left click: Cleave - rapture
1: Ground stomp - wrenching smash
2: Revenge - vengeance in mine.
^those 3 skills have been my core skills from whenever ive unlocked them to lvl 42.
I can give you a more in depth build but i'd recommend giving everything a go as you unlock them, you'll have a lot more fun constantly trying out new things plus you'll realise much quicker what you like the best!
^ any of those skills will go well with the 3 ive already mentioned. You're only on normal mode so the added dps from any of them will just get things done quicker ^___^

I will write one of these when I feel like I'm good enough to know what I'm talking about, but for now here is a strong build I was using to easily beat nightmare mode, relying on revenge to heal. ^_^

Best way to play barb IMO is to stack defence and be a tank. Not that this is the most fun way, but it'll keep you alive.
You should stack a tonne of All Resist and Vitality, with Strength being of lesser priority. The passive Nerves of Steel gives you armour for every point of vitality, so gear with vitality gives you not only an increased health pool but damage mitigation too.
Kripp has some good barb videos, he was one of the first on USA server to 4-man Diablo on Inferno and has since done it solo with his barb.
Currently farming Act 1 of Inferno for gear to clear act 2 (helping friends with Belial, had a few quick attempts tonight before servers went down), recently changed my build a little and finding it great.
My Current Build
Left: Frenzy with Sidearm
Right: Furious Charge with Dreadnought
1: Ground Stomp with Wrenching Smash
2: Revenge with Provocation
3: War Cry with Impunity
4: Wrath of the Berserker with Insanity
Passives: Nerves of Steel, Tough as Nails, Superstition
From memory I'm sitting on around 7.5k Armour, 45k Health, 500-600 resists, 7.5k-8k dps - when buffed with War Cry.
Inferno is all gear. If you haven't got it into your head by now then you need to. You NEED gear to progress. Resistances are vital, especially if you're going for a tanky Sword and Board approach. It starts off frustrating but if you just check the AH for gear with resists and a decent weapon with vitality and set your max buyout to 50k then you can get some decent starting gear.
I'm liking the progression. Frustrating at times (**** act 2), yet enjoyable.
does +X% damage and +X% attack speed effect the amount of dps shown on your weapon?
and if you're going sword+shield, would attack speed or +X%damage be better?
ty : )
If a weapon has stats listed with + Damage and + Attack Speed, the listed Damage Per Second is the DPS after all these stats have been taking into consideration. If you take note of the weapon damage itself, a 600 DPS weapon could only have 400-500 attack damage, but the boosted IAS and damage are taken into consideration.

Oh, I also want to add on just for every Barbarian's Info. One thing that I notice if you're using Frenzy is that your attacks per second as a result of the heavily increased attack speed is NOT calculated for you on the 'Details Tab'. So if you are on the 75% attacks per second boost increase, you need to multiply your DPS FURTHER by 1.75. Same with Maniac. Your new quoted DPS as a result of Maniac times 1.75 is your true DPS.
So in reality, your true DPS is quite significantly larger, and Even more if you use Wrath of the Berserker Insanity (Again: your Quoted DPS x 1.75 is your true DPS). So let's say that 11K DPS as quoted doesn't mean it's low.
My 2 cents in case you don't really notice.
