* Schedule subject to change, this is only a draft. Check out tonight's broadcast for the final details.
** Lunch break schedule will need to be a little flexible as some players will have completed their Group Stage matches, whilst later on other players will be waiting for Lower Bracket games to commence.
Entry Fees *
Spectators: Free Open Bracket: $20 ** Championship Bracket: $40
* You can secure these prices by pre-purchasing online at the ACL store. Paying on the day will cost an additional $5.
** If you advance from the Open Bracket to the Championship Bracket, you're required to pay an additional $20.
Maps *
Bel'Shir Beach (Winter Edition)
Tal’darim Altar
Daybreak
Metropolis
Cloud Kingdom
Shakuras Plateau
Ohana **
Korhal Compound
Antiga Shipyard
* As per allofourevents, MLG/GSL editions are to be used as appropriate.
** I'm aware that there are significant balance complaints from Zerg players with regards to Ohana at the moment. However, due to the fact that these maps will be used in the upcoming World Championship Series event, I feel that excluding the map could potentially result more longterm issues for players. Keep in mind that all Championship Bracket participants will receive a generous 3 vetoes per match.
Prizes
1st: $1,000
2nd: $500
3rd: $250
Stream
There will be a dedicated stream for StarCraft 2 which will operate from approximately 11:00AM until 9:00PM on Saturday, and 9:30AM until the closing ceremony on Sunday.
The stream can be accessed (along with a live results and photos feed) at ACLPro.com.au/Stream2.
Administration & Production
Dox: Tournament director & commentary. Come to me about anything. Norksman: Tournament co-ordinator. He'll be managing results when I'm unavailable and ensuring we have matches ready for the stream. Doble: Stream configuration & commentary. If there are any issues with the audio/video/overlays, let me know and I'll relay it back to him. Maynarde: Commentary. inFeZa: Dedicated observer. Cheekyduck & Livibee: These two will be regularly dragging players over to the media area for pre-match interviews.
Additionally, we'll have players making guest appearances on the stream to provide insight and discuss their matches. We'll be taking questions from the stream viewers - so make sure you have some prepared!
Each of the 8 players who advance from the Open Bracket will be invited to select which Championship Group they'll participate in live on stream, so be sure to catch that broadcast on Sunday morning!
Map Selection & Seeding *
Open Bracket: First map is selected for you. Loser picks the 2nd map. Each player can either declare up to 2 vetos before the match has started, or they can choose to veto 1 map on the fly. ** Group Stages: First map is selected for you. Each group starts on a different map. Once the lobby has been hosted, both players take turns vetoing three maps each. From these remaining two maps, each player will nominate the next map(s) to be played in the series. Championship Bracket: Both players take turns vetoing 3 maps, then selecting 2. The remaining map will be played first.
* In all of the above circumstances, the same map cannot be played twice in a single round. If both players cannot reach an agreement on who will veto first, the higher seed will be selected. Consult a tournament administrator for clarification.
** EXAMPLE: You can choose to veto Antiga Shipyard and Tal'Darim Altar before the first game has begun. Alternatively, you might win the first map, and your opponent selects Metropolis as the 2nd map. You can immediately eliminate this map "on the fly", and force your opponent to select a different map. Neither player is required to veto 2 maps, or any maps at all. This is entirely up to each player.
Open Bracket Seeding: Will be based on OVERALL career points. This is the total points you have earned throughout ACL events since league 1.
Group Distribution: There are four criteria that are met when groups are being generated:
1) The overall weight of each group must be as balanced as possible. These values are based on overall career points. *
2) We avoid pairing participants with other players who achieved a podium ranking at the same regional event.
3) Inherently, we try to reduce the number of participants from each region to a maximum of 2.
4) Players representing the same team are not paired.
* Keep in mind that the integrity of the groups is paramount, and item #1 must be satisfied as a priority.
Championship Bracket Seeding: The winner of each group will play the runner up of another group, and so on. The specific pairings will not be made public to discourage players from throwing games.

Question: whats the general level of play in the open bracket??
I'm afraid I can't tell advise until people have already signed up on Saturday morning. I know there is a pretty diverse mix of participants though, and we had some Gold/Diamond players make it through to the Championship Playoffs @ ACL Gold Coast, so I would strongly recommend participating, no matter what league you're in.
Will it be the same as the ACL rules page says with a predetermined first map per round in the open bracket? I assume there are no vetoes there for maps beyond this first pick either?
Asrath, I have purple/red in my hair too - because I'm rad... but i'll keep an eye out for ya (;
Dox, Thanks mate! I was gonna play anyway, just curious is all! Gonna have fun no matter what!!!!!
I'll come up on the day and offer u any help so u know where to find me mate.

Of course you can, I underlined "anything" specifically in the hopes you'd ask me such intimate, unrelated questions.
I've updated the rules page to reflect the new maps. As for Erasmus' question, I've removed that part from the rules page, and now it simply says to refer to the brackets for details. I'm going to edit the OP of THIS thread now, to explain the map selection process for the Open Bracket, Group Stages and Championship Bracket. I'll also be explaining how seeding works. Check back in five.
OP updated with map selection, veto's, seeds and blah blah blah. We're going live in 1 hour. Be sure to tune in.
