It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

For those interested we've had this question quite a few times so I thought I'd drop the answer in here.
Competing Internationally won't be a once off, it will be continued attendance at events. Using the MLG as an obvious example as you can attend without qualification - pending good results locally the top tier player/s will be sent to every MLG for the foreseeable future. It is important to note however that we will be looking for continued improvement at each of these events. If a player is not seen to be improving or slipping, this will impact the number of International events attended.
Thanks for all of the interest and responses thus far. It will take a little while to get through them all but every single person will be responded to.
Fantastic to see Immunity making another strong push into the RTS scene, I think it'll really pay dividends for the players/Immunity, especially considering how much easier it is to play in international tournaments these days.
There's a tonne of good A and B team players that Immunity can pick up, so it's going to be interesting to see who they go for. Well played, Sent1nel.
Hey dippa, I see you're CS1.6 skills are paying off as a Grand Master on SEA.
I'm very excited about getting into SC2 in a big way. We're working on 2 competitions as well at the moment but everyone will hear more about that soon.
You DIOL'd yet? Guessing it's not hugely different to online?
What are everyone's thoughts on South Korean ladder - for example how does a GM from SEA stack up there ranking wise? Master? Or do we have AU GM players there also kicking it?
As an aside I can't believe I wrote you're instead of your - clearly I need more sleep

Most of the really top SEA players (the currently sponsored ones) are very high masters on Korea. Most GMs can get into korean masters I believe, as can some high masters players.
as far as i know, the only Aussie to be in Korean GM was moonglade when he was actually in Korea, so playing without any of the lag most people get to that server.
Glade has been the only gm on Korea from sea and that was when he was playing in Korea where you get like 1-5 ms latency.
A majority of sea gm are masters on korea but only about a dozen sea players are like high enough ranked mmr masters on korea who play gms there regularly. Those that come to mind are Light, PiG, tgun, iaguz, Rossi, deth, EdgE, GLaDe, EnDerr, ice, RedArchon and myself.

You missed someone fagchops. Also yeah, Anyone outside top 100gm on SEA will struggle making masters on KR. It's that much tougher over there.
Who is this mOOnGLaDe person you speak of? :P I heard about the MLG drama's you had, pretty terrible form by them to be honest. The admin in charge needs to be KFC.
Interesting about the high ranking masters. The difference between reaching GM there is the ping? Timezones? or skill level?
Skill level. So many foreign progamers also play on the korean server, also the same like top 10 korean players have like 5 smurfs each in GM, then you add in all the gosu code a/code b/ people trying to get into code b and you have a really high skill curve server where its pretty hard to get gm. Generally its considered really good if youre rank 1-5 in your division or around 700-900 points master i think?
And to a lesser extent ping etc
