Phoenix e-sports are proud to announce our A-Team. Featuring 6 of our best players who will be competing at the highest level in SEA and representing us at online and offline events including SEACL #3 with the help of our sponsor Next Designs.
I think the A team has a great amount of skill and potential. RivaL and Bandit are great players to practice with and can show great results with RivaL actually coming 2nd at one of the Melbourne lan competitions. Zealo, Wally and Phoenix all have a great amount of potential to innovate and perfect their play styles as they have shown during practice.
I have been playing Starcraft 2 since Beta and have been competing in most of the Melbourne Starcraft 2 lan competitions. I promised myself that I would help the Starcraft 2 scene expand in which I actually have with hosting 2 Melbourne Starcraft 2 competitions with the help of Darknoob and Redemption. I continue to make this scene more exposed with whatever time I have.
Aaron has shown that not only can he play the game but he also has great leadership attributes and work ethic. As soon as I met him I knew that his goal was to improve the SEA SC2 community. He will be a very valuable member of pX for a very long time.
i think the a-team was a good idea to create a more serious atmosphere, and also motivate our players to work harder and to train as a team. The A-team was also created so that we are able to help each other improve and reach our goals, which i thought was a great approach.
hi my name is Henry Yum and i have been playing starcraft 2 since august 2010 =), i also played broodwar before playing starcraft 2 and played on the iccup servers playing around the C-C+ level.
Henry is a very good SC2 player and 2013 is going to be a big year for him, with pX behind him I think he will be able to get some good wins during 2013. Henry is a big part of pX as he is the most experienced player, he helps with training alot.

I think it's great! I've never been in a clan or team before so it's an exciting experience.
I hope I can do well during the seacl and hopefully go and represent pX at a few lans this year It's really awesome being a part of this team which is full of a lot of up and coming talent! Awesome to practice with
I started playing video games when I was very young after my older brother got an n64.
We used to play A LOT of games including some of my favourite of all time like mario cart 64 and golden eye
and my all time favourite DONKEY KONG 64.simply the best game ever. King k rools laugh whenever you had a cutscene, awesome game.
Before sc2 I didn't really play any rts. I played very little sc:bw and played a lot of wc3 customs and campaign but I didn't even know
the pro scene existed. only really until about a month or two of playing sc2 did I find the pro scene and ever since I've wanted to play professionally so I will
continue to keep trying my hardest!
Other then that I play cricket on the weekends, I was at one point rep lvl but I didn't really grow until late and have been plauged with injury so now I just play for
fun! Hopefully afterschool I'll go to uni and do something in I.T just don't know what yet
Hayden is a great guy and is extremely funny, he used to play terran but swapped to zerg late 2012 and has really started playing to the best of his ability. 2013 is going to be a good year for Hayden and I can see him being a big upcoming name in SEA.
Rival is really, really good. Everyone in pX seems like they have a great personality, I just hope I can play well enough to deserve my place amoongst them based on skill.
I started playing starcraft 2 as a bronze terran in early 2011 and switched to random once i got to the high plat level. My biggest hobby outside of starcraft is spearfishing in which i hold several state and national records.
Spencer has a lot of talent, his committed and wanting to improve and play to the best of his ability. He attends a lot of events in the perth scene and has shown that he can compete at the top level in Western Australia. Hopefully he continues this in 2013.
I’m excited to see how we can perform and improve as a team. We all have potential and I believe that over time we can each develop our skills to eventually be able to challenge the top tier teams of SEA. CautioN and Duxxie have shown a lot of dedication to getting everything on track thus far and so I have come to expect good things. Furthermore, with RivaL, Wally and Phoenix all being Zergs with varying styles, CautioN being a Terran with a somewhat frustrating (for me) understanding of the meta, and Zealo being a random there is plenty of TvX practice for me, which means I am getting a personal benefit by being a part of the A-Team. To summarise my thoughts I think we have great potential and a great atmosphere.
When I began my Starcraft 2 journey back in February 2012, I had no prior experience of the game or of Brood War. I bought the game because my gaming buddies over in VB Clan had all moved onto it after a long run in the Age of Empires/Age of Mythology series. So I was excited to reconnect and try this new age of RTS. I have been playing the game casually since then and improving quite rapidly and now I am at a level that has motivated me to get into competitive gaming, which is why I joined Phoenix E-Sports. Outside of gaming I play soccer and basketball and I am an avid watcher of movies.
Blake is a top bloke, his very chill and a good guy to talk to and play with. To back this up he can play Starcraft, when i first saw him play i loved the way he split his units and did medivac drops. For someone who hasn't played much competitive i think he will be a surprise player during 2013 and take out some tournaments against some top players.
Ok... So one of the newest members in the clan/team and just got picked for the A-team and havent had alot of time to bond with everyone, But they all seem like nice people who are committed to just all improving as a group always willing to give advice on each others play in practice.
They all seem very talented and knowledgable players, Which is why i think being in this team is just what i need to advance in my skills.
I've actually never even thought of competitive gaming being a thing people could make money from until about a year ago when i first saw some games from Ipl 1&2 that a friend showed me and i instantly knew I needed to buy Starcaft 2.
I have always been into computer games with my first one being Starcraft 1/Broodwar when i was 6 years old (Mouse only for the win). Played alot of RTS games as a kid (again mouse only :P ) because they were fun and I had to think about what i was doing.
Lachlan still has a long way to go with parts of his game, while other parts of his game are excellent. If he can fix the parts that aren't so good then he will be a very good player. Lachlan has not played a lot of competitive but as soon as we saw him play we knew he had potential.
We at pX are looking forward to seeing how the A-Team during 2013 and wish them all the best, stay tuned for more news.
