This is an Open tournament - all players welcome. We will attempt to accomodate everyone as required.
However should we exceed our capacity we reserve the right to trim the player pool to a reasonable size, including and excluding players at our absolute discretion.
Each game must be played on the SEA server in the presence of at least one sanctioned referee.
Each game will have its own discussion thread. Players and the referee should agree on a game time here.
This is not set in stone - A discussion on how to handle timings has been opened and feedback is requested here.
Referees shall not be members of the competition.
Each round of the series is 'sudden death', with the winning team proceeding to the following round.
The initial round shall be a single game. Subsequent rounds (especially the 'group of 8' and later) shall be a series of 3 games.
Team placement is not random. Teams shall be seeded and placed when entries close.
Once posted, seedings and placement are final.
No discussion or debate shall be entered into regarding seedings.
To improve your seeding you should improve both player's highest-rank 2v2.
Each game shall be played on a Blizzard 2v2 Ladder Map, selected at random.
Some rounds (particularly the group of 8 and later) are a best of series. In this case the first map will be random and the losing side will pick the following map(s).
Discussion on the map pool is currently open here.
The winner shall be the team declared victorious by the game, typically by the other team resigning or loses all structures.
In the event of a stalemate, the game shall be replayed once a stalemate has been declared by the referee.
We wish to encourage involvement of sponsors so that we can add more tournaments and better prizes. As such, there shall be no unauthorised advertising of websites, clans, drinks, TV shows. The referee will 'stamp' the official replay with the starcraft.org.au website address and competition sponsors.
Breaking this rule shall result in instant disqualification. Don't even wish your Mum happy birthday.
All results shall be subject to the discretion of the organisers, and all decisions shall be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
Game results will be posted to the website once known, along with the official replay.
Minimum Entrants
16 teams (32 players) will be required for the tournament to proceed. We can expand this to a 32- or 64-team roster as needed. In the likely event that the final team size is not a perfect power of 2 (ie not 16, 32, 64...) the highest-seeded players will be awarded a bye for the first round.
Prizes
The winning team shall be awarded $100, with the runners-up receiving $50. Prizes provided courtesy of Empirisoft - please contact admin@starcraft.org.au for sponsorship opportunities.
