So, I more or less stopped playing around October(?) last year. I started playing again a bit around the new year, played a couple of tournaments, but it felt pretty forced, plus I had full time work commitments which were pretty full on, so I stopped playing again when I moved back to my parents place in early February.
Since I've started studying, I've been busier than ever. Each day I'm waking up at 6am and going 20km into town to go to lectures, labs, tutorials, study groups.... Sometimes I'm not home till 10 at night. As you can imagine, I've not really been keeping up with SC2 for these past 6 months. In all honesty, I really did stop enjoying the game and it got to my mentality when I queued up on ladder. I lost a lot of games simply because I couldn't be bothered putting in enough effort to control my units, to inject hatcheries, to scout effectively...
Even though study has been full on, I've managed to watch a few games of SC2 this past month though. I've been watching, in particular, KT Rolster's Life (see title, eh??) as he boss-modes every premier tournament he's a competitor in. His playstyle always used to excite me and impress me, and since Wednesday night of last week, I decided to start playing some games again and see if there's any spark left.
If you've been keeping up on SEA tournaments lately, I've signed up for SEACraft Melee #10, FFN #42, Masters Cup #50 and SEACraft Weekly #40. I'm not winning much at the moment, but the important thing is that I'm playing these tournaments and, hopefully, making my presence known in some sense. Important also, is that I'm collecting OSC points, even if it's only a 5 or a 10 here or there.
I've also recently joined Meta Game Gods (mGG). Unfortunately, ToR isn't active enough in SC2 for my liking, so I've made the switch to a more active clan and will be participating as part of their roster from now on.
Things to look out for: Upcoming tournaments! Due to inactivity, I'm currently ranked in Diamond league, so I will be playing the upcoming GPD Open #110! While the coaching from Enderr would be great, and he's a player I have a lot of respect for, this is more about getting back into the swing of playing tournaments and enjoying community events. I'll also be trying to play every weekly tournament available, subject to my availability due to studies ( ). So definitely look out for me there
While I'm making this blog, I should definitely plug the upcoming Frenetic Array vs Dynasty Esports series! (Yes, it's still happening!) This looks like it will be taking place sometime in the coming weeks, due to a lot of scheduling conflicts + Easter, it's been pushed back considerably But I'm definitely looking forward to the series, there's been a lot of banter from both sides and it will be great to see it all come to a head in a Best of Nine! (or is it Seven?...)
Cheers to all the ToR people, thanks for the good times! Especially to Nick aka Spartaz, who has been a lot of fun online as well as RL! Hi to all my new mGG clan mates, in particular Auntie Nem And thanks to all my boys in Fray for being awesome! Looking forward to our victories to come, both as a team and as individuals!
**** Dynasty, bunch of diamond scrubbers. 3 months late, but my new year begins now! Cheers for reading
