I'm pretty worried about the future of SEA ladder, that is when HOTS comes out. Since its not a standalone and an expansion, not many people will want to buy both SC2 WOL and SC2 HOTS at the same time. Not only that, those that is bored of SC2 WOL will not buy HOTS This will eventually reduce the population of SC2 in SEA regions further (damn).
I have switched to NA already, despite facing 0.2-1second delay. The players there are more bm, but the population is about 21x of SEA (comparing games in the region this noon). I've been playing with players with about the same MMR or slightly higher/or lower, and that is great because I can see myself adapting to new strategies and learning new tricks in the game. Not on SEA man. I tried SEA afterwards this morning, and got faced off with this new-bronze player. Obviously its so one sided I ended up 1 base all in him, but I felt bad for him. I got placed in Silver (again, wtf.) I tried the next couple of games, with 2 silver, 3 gold and 1 diamond, and 1 master. Diamond AND MASTER? wtf?! That's crazy man, how is my MMR even enough to challenge players of those league?
I'm sick of these weird matchups on SEA ladder, I guess I won't be visiting it anytime soon. I hope things will turn better when HOTS comes out though, since WOL>HOTS upgrade in is ridiculous (I recalled WOL was selling for $120 when it was just released) Nonetheless, I'll continue to practice as much as possible in hope of reaching Masters in NA by march. OH YEAH.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that your MMR hasn't settled yet.
Furthermore, at the low levels I really don't see much reason to not be playing on SEA. I'm still playing on SEA on both accounts (one plat one dia) and I genuinely have little interest in swinging over to NA until I'm high master/gm.
If you haven't played enough games, your matchmaking won't be great. If you play in the dead times at night, SEA is going to be a bit worse. But for run of the mill laddering at a reasonable time, you should be perfectly fine.
I don't get all these complaints about BSG ladder in SEA
I get normal opponents all the time in BSG, the only weird player i versed was Lobo, a GM terran at like 2am :P
The queue time isn't completely unreasonable and I never had a time where I queued up and couldn't find a game under 2 minutes.
SEA ladder is the worst at the top end; where you have players who can barely hit diamond on NA getting into GM. If you want the best practice, play on a TW/KR account. Otherwise, NA is the better choice when compared to SEA. You'll eventually get used to the delay on the NA server, and playing with lag will get easier. Good luck with your goal of getting masters before March, and have fun.
we should care about SEA ladder coz we live in SEA lol? and i am pretty sure everyone here would like SEA ladder to be a lot more popular and have a much higher standard

Assuming similar marketing strategies as their other games, they should offer some kind of bundle price for two games so I predict maybe $150 for both?
And man you got scammed how can it be $120, I think i paid $100? Or maybe I just have a bad memory. I bought it on release day too.

but whats the point of SEA ladder when there's 3 other better servers which we will have for free?
Do you really wanna spend your entire time on a ladder that only speaks Korean, or on a ladder that has high ping and is full of BM knobloseridiotjokers? Keep in mind that one of the major reasons why sea server was created in the first place was because no one wanted to be lumped onto china/tw/kr.
