So I just wanted to whip up a quick blog to apologise to IXL for my reactions to a situation that lead me to believe three members of IXL were trolling and abusing me. My rushed reaction after a stressful day resulted in a few negative things being said by a few people and I for one and sorry for my part in it. I've since realised that these people were not actually members of IXL at all (this misunderstanding came as IXL members were involved in conversation, but not abusively, and the most abusive person was merely a facebook fan of IXL, not an actual member) - I was corrected and apologised soon after, but I'd like to make an apology to IXL for this misjudgement on my behalf publicly for all their members and others to see.
I don't really mind how this apology is taken, I've come to terms with it and I don't feel the sole blame rests with me. However, this evening I've seen a few members of IXL around the forum and realised its a lot bigger than one person and there are some great personalities in it. I feel personally about this issue because I myself have fought hard against TA Stigma (and at times, TA Smegma... Thanks Rich). As I've seen TA's name brought into bad reputation and as a member I realised that often the negativity was only brought up by two personalities clashing, not the whole of TA causing issues. So I feel for the anger IXL would have inevitably felt and humbly apologise.
Additionally, I've felt a bit of tension in the air during the SEACL as everyone switches into competitive mode. Thats always going to bring out tension and I want everyone to remember that we play this game for the fun and sport of it. The polar opposite, to give an example, would be Bar Craft, no one cares, race, league, clan, team, pro, noob - doesn't matter. Everyone is there for a common interest in this game and accepts everyone. However I've felt a bit of tension around SEACL and I hope everyone can loosen up and enjoy this sport together, win or lose.
I'd like to also give suggestion to a project I've worked on in the past that's primary goal was to have fun and enjoy StarCraft. This being, the 'Plunder Down Under' Tournament series. Expect an announcement soon and more exciting news as we present Plunder Down Under 2.
Thanks for you time in listening to my blog and I hope everyone can think twice before getting frustrated with silly things.
Thanks for reading
Best of luck to all the teams in SEACL - I hope everyone has fun!
I like this, starcraft 2 is about having fun.. but its ok too to be competitive in team leagues, it doesn't happen that often.. and you see teams in the gsl always /dance or BM in team games it's kinda like a traditional thing :P
Yeah, I guess the important thing is don't take it to heart. Enjoy the sport and the activity that it generates in our community. At the end of the day - for most part I like to think of a lot of members in many of the teams friends of mine, even if we are bitter enemies in the league. We shouldn't transcend that into actual hatred, anger or stress.
One common goal and one common interest - StarCraft.
Thanks for the humble apology Chadman, and yes like mafia said at the end of the day its about enjoying e-sports, the competition and the formation of teams and their bonds with each other via through practice and general chat.
that being said we have our goals aimed high, so see you all soon.
