During the past month, I played this 4v4 game with my friends Mint, Spartan and TAGurPrgnant.
When the map loaded up, I noticed I was in the isolated spot away from my 3 other friends. We had called it the 'bait'. Why? Well, traditionally whoever gets that spot dies first.
Mint's reaper was the first to spot our trouble... our opponent's 3 has decided... to get a lot of barracks... I mean like a whole lot of them.
She alerts us and Tag... going for his famous "I'm going to mass expand and feed you guys" Strategy says...
Needless to say the 3 of them didnt stand a chance against the swarm of units flooding their base. Spartan managed to save some scvs and I think 1-2 buildings... Mint hid scvs to try to rebuild... Tag was basically... dead.
And there was me.
BTW in case anyone who reads this doesn't know how grim the situation really is? I'm not and that is like my worst possible race to play in this situation. Mint was also not main .
BUT the responsibility was too great especially after Mint says...
SO I decided if somehow I am to do this... the 2 'real' terrans have to help me while I'm trying to control my panic. This game showcased some great micro from both players especially TAG who took out the 5 colossus which made me extremely worried because... hey I was making marines and some marauders (I heard marines good unit).
So all I did was try to macro.. chanting in my head... ok barracks gotta make more marines gotta do my upgrades... why am I supply blocked again? DTs? ok turrets mines... kept running through my head. I remembered to make a couple of vikings with one viking being the hero chasing all those colossus away each time and actually getting a colo kill all on its own.
But our 2 players' constant pressure on them begin to see them crumple... With the scent of victory within our grasp... TAG reminded us to save energy for.. well, I guess it is a thing to say...
