So ill be going on holidays with my GF to Sydney and Gold Coast on the 13th Nov - 21st Nov(Just in time for IEM SG!). Anyways i`ll touch down in Sydney then take a connecting flight to Gold Coast for the first 4 days.
13 - 17th Gold Coast
Vibe Hotel Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia
17th - 21st Sydney
Aspire Hotel 383-389 Bulwara Road Nsw, Ultimo, NW, 2007 Australia
Anyone knows about these places? Is the location convenient/safe etc etc?
Anyways, was just wondering if you guys have recommendations on places that are must sees in Gold coast/Sydney! Already found out from benji that i can take a train from Ultimo - Blue mountain in under 2 hours/10 bucks so definitely gonna fit that in my schedule. My hotel is near the Harbour and Haymarket in Sydney so definitely those!
GC however, ive already been to the 3 theme parks but my GF hasnt. Is there anyone outta the 3 that is highly recommended and what are the ticket prices like? Its been almost 15 years since i last went! Any advice/tips would be appreciated!
PS: How are the diners/resturants/eateries charges like? Dont wanna walk in somewhere and get rip off thinking it was a good/affordable meal!
EDIT: Is there any competitions or barcrafts during that period of time?

I can tell you about the GC side of things.. As far as theme parks go, dreamworkd is the way to go i reckon.. As far as restruants go GC isn't too bad just check the menu before you go in, its like any city, has its affordable restruants and has its up expensive ones as well.
Very little impute but hopefully that may help you in some small way...
The Star (local casino): It's been redone in the last year and it looks shmick as ****. Plenty of fantastic places to eat, literally cannot go wrong.
Darling Harbour (the area just around IMAX): Nothing better than going for a walk on a nice night around 6.30-7.30 out towards the harbour, having dinner at one of the nearby restaurants/steakhouses and then just walking around the pier. ******* gorgeous place to be.
IMAX: Because it's a huge ******* cinema. What else do you need?
The monorail: Because we're getting rid of it soon and Singapore will never have one so you might as well. Doesn't cost that much, surprisingly.
EDIT: Apparently you have a monorail. It shits on ours, so yeah, don't bother getting on-board.
Kings Cross: Don't go here unless you're horny, addicted to nightclubs or, like Shooty McFace, desperate for some physical action directed towards your brain.
And if you are up for any of the aforementioned, there's nicer places than the cross anyway.
The Opera House/Circular Quay: Lovely night-time spot. There's a shitty bar (Opera Bar) just underneath where you can have some drinks and be hipster. If you get food at the place just next to it, the chips with aioli are pretty ******* good. Expensive though (like $9, but better value than the rest of the menu from memory).
Also, places in Sydney charge what they say on the menu and tipping isn't required. What you see is what you get - if you don't like it, walk out and go somewhere else. It's perfectly OK. Waitresses and waiters might be unimpressed, but as any random patron would tell you - they can get fucked; it's your money and you don't have to pay any more than you want to.
(Note: this applies BEFORE you order a meal. If you don't like the food you get you're entitled to complain, but don't walk out without paying. That's not cool. But you're more than welcome to go up to a place and ask for a menu (if they don't have one available at the entrance) and then decide whether you want to eat there or not.)
How old are you? It depends on how old you are to what you'll be interested in I guess.
Dreamworld is definitely the park to go these days, although if you wanna be all cutesy and shit with the gf then Movieworld is probably a good choice too, and there's still some good rides there that you'll enjoy. ^_^
Otherwise, the beach is sick at surfers (if you like water/waves). I dunno if Infinity is/will be cool if you're not like 15, but Infinity was sick back in the day and I can only assume it woulda gotten better, although thats just if you want to do something tourist-attractiony thats not theme parks.
