Hi, many of you know me as a troll back year or two ago in the community but ive still been around in the skype groups following this game and the community.
Tonight i had a interesting conversation with "Ice" manager of the Dynasty about hosting a LAN in a dead state, Future of Dynasty and money management.
So this all started when we were talking about relevant sea players, someone commented wally oh nvm, followed by a every dynasty player oh nvm. Ice commented saying his team was relevant, With me following up asking if his team was gold-dia? Because i honestly wasn't sure what the team was. He avoided the question for awhile then said oh we have "Frustration". The bad manner protoss who has been on almost every team in sc2sea and is not the person you want representing your up and coming "Amateur" team especially if you want to appeal to sponsors.
After twenty minutes of him trying to justify the frustration pick up the conversation made a sudden turn to ice boosting about having such great sponsor already a "server company" which any amateur team to ever pop up on sc2sea has had. He said they helped him host the recent LAN in Perth to "rebuild WA LAN scene". I questioned him on why he would try to rebuild a scene in a dead area, instead of going to melbourne and hosting a much larger event with better results in both attendance and profit. He followed up by saying "it wasn't about the money" it was only to grow the already beyond dead scene in perth. Hell even Adelaide has more people sign up for events, Avcon had 30 people (These were random nobody's but it still proves there a tiny scene here compared to the dead state of perth)
The LAN pulled a total of 11 showed up to play and afew spectators. Quite a profitable event for frustration beating afew random nobodys and dropping one game to some diamond player (Remember Frustration is a NA GM) to take home $300+. Minimal profit for the event was had. Hosting a $500 event lan in a dead state, profitable.
I went on to saying that if he hosted this event in Melbourne he could have doubled-tripled the profit of the event, Had a real challenge for frustration and seen dynasty have a tiny rise within the LAN scene. But it wasn't about the money, he didn't say what it was about. But when you are creating a business you want it to have some profit and not just be a place to dump money or you could just buy a hooker for the night and experience higher profit.
This conversation changed into Ice saying that in 6 months dynasty will be big and make a difference in the sc2 sea scene, With picking up frustration this has only proven in a month or two he will leave because you cant offer him anything other then a shirt and minimal money, because no sponsor will get anywhere near this team with frustration being on it and also being in starcraft 2. The game is dead, the only teams that will have good sponsorship are the teams that have been going for years because they are actually relevant in the scene (Fray, x5, Ecko, TTysf, Silcone). All of these teams have people who place high in events and have good reputations.
The future of dynasty is looking great in the hands of ice with the money management in his hands you can expect plenty of profit to be wasted and down the drain just making whats left of sea sc2 esports even less.
Beware when you try to join this origination for the management team is highly uneducated and make extremely illogical decisions.
Six months from now ice said dynasty will rise, i expect it to be exactly the same as any other amateur team to join sc2sea. A failed joke and a pit which has sucked money to produce zero profit.
"ur an idiot" - Ice. When told sc2 isnt profitable for any sponsor anymore
TLDR: Ice is an idiot who doesn't understand anything about business and only wants to waste money sponsor money that could actually be used to benefit the scene.

Everyone and their dog knows there isn't money in sc2 for the vast majority. if someone is going to come out and say "we aren't doing this one particular event for the money", isn't going on about how illogical and wasteful it is for 2 paragraphs kind of moot?
As for where Dyn will be in 6 months, I'm not a commentator.

What if i told you, that there's more to life than money?

You really need a lesson in economics.

Yeah man you know where its at we dont need any of that dirty corporate money we just running on dreams and passion this is how we bring the scene back to life, I can already hear the old pro's returning with all this passion we are seeing.
Ok, first of all, I have nothing to do with them. But I think the OP deserves to be read with an open mind. I always believe there are two sides to the coin, and not everything in the OP is probably true because this is what all you Dynasty haters wanna read anyway, about how dumb and stupid and ridiculous the team is. Some things might be exaggerated, like how he mentioned about arguing for 20 minutes, but I'm just curious how many lines were exchanged? And also it'd help if you could provide some image proof of Ice calling you an idiot at that exact moment. Heck, proof of him ignoring you and changing the topic would be even greater. Blatant accusation is really rude, which is just what I see now.
Now on to what I have to say. I don't think everyone who joins a team has this thinking that they want to get something out of the team, like money or sponsorship of any kind. Some may just want to join a team for practice partners, or simply for fun, which I really think is the case for Frustration. I'm pretty sure he knows the difference of sponsorship he could have gotten from SYF Gaming and Dynasty Organisation. This probably goes the same to the rest who are the Diamonds you all are making fun of.
As for PSiArc, I really don't know what kind of move is that. I only have one advice for you, Ice, and that is to "be wise'. At this stage you probably think you're doing well and building up the team well, and it might work out well for you. But in the future, if you do realise that it's not gonna work out, don't give yourself delusional thoughts that it can still work out as long as you try X and do Y, and hope for Z to happen. Chances are that it will not work. It is a big dream to build up a team and I think the only person that has successfully done so is Zenabi, although eCKo does not have a big name sponsor yet. It still works out, so I'm happy for them.
Please don't be a (name censored) and fail at doing things. Big ideas, big hype and a huge steam engine at the start of projects, but always fail to finish well. Empty promises that did not get fulfilled, and lots of disappointments for the people who trusted him. You also like to say that your team is "not new, it's an established team" and so was Avant. Avant killed Nick (or Nick killed himself) and our favourite 4CC hero DanO, and also killed the dream that we're all waiting for, Vox.Pox. Don't let your selfishness (sorry for the harsh use of words) of wanting the team to succeed kill the optimism of others.
TL;DR:
There's two sides of the same coin. Might be traces of bullshit in Centrelink's post.
Know when to stop, don't delude yourself if things aren't going well.
Don't be another letdown that SC2SEA has seen for the past few years already. New teams in a not-so-alive scene for eSports always died. Ascension, Revolt, 3D or whatever that shit was called, SEA Serpents (which turned into a Diamond group of friends once I "took over"), and Sharks.
