Hello friends, been a while since i posted on sc2sea and many new members that i don't know so little bio
My name is Luke 'BiGbiRd' Bridley and i played in ACL/WCS etc last year and would say i got fairly decent-ish before stopping in late Oct/early Nov last year due to not having fun essentially (PvP is the most frustrating shit ever). Some of you may remember that near the end of my playing i used to complain about zerg, however i meant almost all of it jokingly as PvZ was my favourite and best matchup (80% ~ win rate on ladder at the time) and i loved it to bits.
Current day, i started playing on and off 2-3 weeks ago and am having fun again but one thing is really, really bothering me. Ever since Beta days Protoss never had a period of real dominance or 'Imbalance'. We had some times when certain sons of Auir rose to the top with new builds/timings that were strong before being figured out, but it was never a buff/new unit that caused trouble. Meanwhile Zerg and Terran tears saw buffs and nerfs galore while Protoss stayed silent on the sidelines. So it is starting to really piss me off when i can't have a single ladder game without,
"Protoss is so ******* easy, you are trash son"
"Protoss takes no skill"
"Easy race, a-move deathball hurrr durr"
Every time i watch a stream, either personal or tournament the chat reeks of Protoss bashing for being easy/not mechanically difficult. But the biggest hit came just then, i played a terran and went a very harass heavy style with chargelots and warp prisms while taking a quick third and just keeping him busy with drops. I did a pretty good job i think and it felt good to give a Terran a taste of their own medicine to drop/runby with zealots at 2-3 places at once. After doing huge damage and crushing his last hope push i got the "What a ******* easy joke race". Normally i laugh when people rage but that was the 5th game in a row that someone had bitched about Protoss. We can't even play like a Terran without being called trash and 'Being carried by our race' and it is starting to get annoying/disheartening to try new things and still have people whine.
TLDR: Getting annoyed that whatever build i do i get called out for playing Protoss because it's the 'Easy race'
Anyways sorry for the rant, it's 5:30 am and it got me in a shitty mood. hopefully i'll see a lot of you @ Avcon this weekend
Spook #1

Pretty sure every race cops this. Terran have been getting abuse since 2010 about being op and I know I personally called every single Zerg I played in 2012 a patchzerg.
If you're going to b.net you've gotta learn to the rage.
Hhhmm, I feel a bit 'slow' today, I don't 'get' this at all. ^^
Anyway, addressing the OP, if you are looking for gratification, none comes higher than pissing off your opponent by beating him easily, only for him/her to call your race imbalanced then rage-quit. I usually laugh pretty hard than politely indicate in a civilized manner that I won the game.
Don't be cut up by it though. You must have been playing your race very well, and the other guy had no experience dealing with your particular style, and/or, didn't have the multi-tasking skills to deal with it.
The problem with the protoss race, is I feel they are possibly the cheesiest race to play against, due to the plethora of early game all ins, rushes and proxies they have in their arsenal. It's bloody ludicrous.
All other races I do a basic scout and can read what they are doing fairly easily. Protoss is like a wildcard, you have to really analyze them to get a handle on what the **** they are doing (more so in early game). This, I feel, is almost single handedly responsible for the hate against Protoss, in all other cases your opponent is just utter trash and is lacking in skill. Me personally I have no issues against protoss, in fact it's my strongest matchup. It's amazing what a handful of ghosts and basic micro can do to decimate your so called "deathball".
That being said I don't hate your race, but TBH nothing pisses me off than multiple DT harass. That is my achilles heel.
If this were to happen to me, I would probably counter with asking them why they don't play the race if it is so easy to win with. Seems not-intelligent (there must be a word for that) to whine about something you have the option to play.

This sounds weird to me, protoss players have lots of all ins and cheeses but I find that they are suuuper easy to scout/read ? haha. Maybe for zerg they are, terrans might have a harder time, even so reapers are pretty nice.
