Okay.. so Freedom thinks we are BM arseholes that wanted an advantage to win at any cost...
This doesn't sit with me so I thought I would put my thoughts to a brief blog.
The past two or three WCS qualifiers or ESL monthly cups fray guys have complained after the tournament privately to me how disappointed they felt after losing on SEA server partially due to ping issues. This disappointment continued during the Ro16 yesterday as seither lost to ender while dealing with 250+ ping plus spikes. Verse a player such as enderr who is known for scrappy games and technical micro demanding play, this is especially a disadvantage.
Now, I have a heap of respect for PsiStorm and Enderr, such a solid player at the top of the scene for a very long time. None of my motive to tell seither to play on AUS had anything to do with getting an advantage for seither or anything against ender. As a manager, my task is to support my team and ensure they have the best opportunity to succeed. The admins had stated previously;

So following those instructions to ensure Seither had the best opportunity to succeed I told Seither he should play on AUS.
For those of you that follow other eSports titles in Australia you'd be aware of frequent CS:GO qualifiers in which players are forced to play on various Asian servers to attend the SEA qualifier. No one ever complains about this, they just have to deal with it if they want good ping. Now this is an ANZ qualifier, played on Australian server.. If SEA players want good ping, fly over to Sydney or convince the admins to implement a fair rule.
Seither even offered to play 2 games from the Bo3 on the SEA server and 1 on AUS. Ender declined.
No one wants the disadvantage, I'm sorry it all turned out this way.
Re: Why I asked Seither to play on Aus and not SEA.
We didn't refer to the rule to take an advantage. I just refused to allow seither to take a disadvantage. Yeah people were an arse about it afterwards, which is why I'm apologising, but miscommunication and over-reaction from your team is a big part of the issue also. It's always been clear that games were to be played on AUS.... I think its lucky its taken this long for Aus/NZ players to put their foot down and say no.. Like I said earlier, this happens all the time in other games. SC2 players are just too manner.
Re: Why I asked Seither to play on Aus and not SEA.
I think the fact you were taking what people, who had no involvement in the incident, were saying on twitter as any kind of representation of the situation was never going to end well.
From what you have said it seems like you didn't attempt to communicate with seither in any way to find out his side of the story and just assumed he was trying to gain an advantage instead of not forcing himself to play on a server he gets bad ping to when the rules (which have been known since the first season of wcs) clearly state the games are to be played on the Australian server.
At the end of the day you shouldn't let what everyone on twitter and twitch chat says get to you and use it as a reason to lash out at seither, fray and the admins.

If an arrangement was made between players + admin on some compromise, that's fair and a great display of sportsmanship! And seems like it was offered?
Strange it wasn't accepted, especially with so much on offer...
I wouldn't read to much into twitter/twitch comments. People like to make drama out of nothing.
I argued with EnDerr about refusing this offer. His point was he didn't want to play in a tainted disadvantaged series so that if he SEA was on g2, and others where g1/3 or whatever combo, he'd still lose no matter what in the crappy AUS/NA server he was forced to play on. I *sort of* see his point there.
BUT, me personally I'd take it coz it's better than nothing.
That's why I gave him a hard time about this - but he wasn't thinking clearly and made a rash decision... while pressured to start the game. You can imagine the position he was in, after his previous ping issues preventing him from playing in previous WCS tourneys.
NA was so bad for him, he saw no reason to play further, if he couldn't beat Seither with this ping, then how the F is he gonna beat Iaguz? So forfeiting was the option I agreed to, especially since his mental state at the time was so bad also.

It was a change at the last minute for us.
And others replying with "suck it up", you're not adding to the conversation except being an ass. If enough people here on SEA do it, then I see no reason to continue here...
You're acting like a whiny little brat who's had his lollipop taken away, and I'm not sure if it's more comical or just plain sad. Continuing the trend of acting like a spoiled little brat, "If you don't give me my lollipop back I'm gonna run away and I'll never come back!".
Thanks for making my evening. It seems we're all in agreement here. The rules were followed, and Enderr can only blame himself for turning down an offer from both the admin and Seither that would actually disadvantage Seither in their series together. Perhaps it is worth making an effort in future to remember to review the rules before attempting to start a media shitstorm and dragging players and organizations who were in the right through the mud?

You are right about those - I'm clearing out my twitter for those people - and not pay attention to twitch chat.
Regarding the "it's always been this way". Yes I get that. But keep in mind, if you normally play games on SEA (this is for crying out loud SEA isn't it?), then later change it and say "refer to rule", then it's a big enough change that it screws with the player especially if his ping to AUS/NA is ridiculous.

You're trivializing our problem by saying "its a lollipop taken away". In our POV, it was like "hey play basketball but u have to wear stilletos, refer to the rule". This is not a lollipop like it's not important.

SEA players deal with these issues all of the time. I was not referring to Enderr's situation, but I was referring more to YOUR situation. The fact that you immediately thought it okay to go on and post slander about a hard working and ethical player like Seither and overshadow his performance today by making it all about you; and then had the sheer audacity to come on to this forum and spout more nonsense and threaten to pull the plug on your support in the region, simply because people refused to agree with your idiocy.
I've been asked to stop posting, and I'm going to leave it here. You, as the owner of PsiStorm, need to review your actions this evening and the decisions you've made in the aftermath of this tournament and consider the way it reflects on your organization.
Re: Why I asked Seither to play on Aus and not SEA.
I'm glad that everyone has had a chance to say their pov. I'm just adding my 2 cents from my observations.
What I have noted is Enderr himself is trying to avoid it being turned into drama and seem surprised it was turned to be the way it did.
The tweet and reddit from freeedom is actually strongly worded as an accusation which resulted in several equally worded responses from various people in defence. When I read the tweet I was actually very uncomfortable and hence I dont really blame the reaction from the people who responded to it... even if they arent seemingly helpful for the situation sometimes.
Now that things have somewhat calmed down I think both fray and seither deserves an apology tbh (or it is already done and I missed). The tweet did seem to suggest an evil plot worthy of books which wasnt the intention. Seither is really a nice guy and it was sad to read that said about him.
